The Community Working Group cannot do its work alone. We would like to acknowledge the organizations that are addressing the issue of homelessness and striving toward similar goals in the Bay Area.
Organizations
InnVision is dedicated to empowering homeless and at-risk families and individuals in finding... the way home!
They accomplish this by offering various levels of housing and day programs in a safe and supportive environment that promotes self-worth and independent living. InnVision is the largest homeless provider in the region serving at 20 locations.
Opportunity Health Partners is a nonprofit corporation that provides a comprehensive range of health care services to the residents and unhoused clients of the Opportunity Center. OHP operates a licensed community clinic that offers primary care, mental health care, case management, and other supportive services to both adults and children. OHP has a particular focus on providing needed services and support for those with disabilities. OHP was founded as a cooperative venture among the Community Working Group, InnVision, Stanford University School of Medicine, the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, and the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Peninsula Interfaith Action is a federation of congregations organized to assist neighborhoods, congregations, organizations and schools as they seek to improve the quality of life for families on the San Francisco Midpeninsula.
JobTrain is a nonprofit community-based job training center on the Menlo Park-East Palo Alto border. Their accredited job training, counseling and placement services, teen programs, evening and weekend courses, and child development centers help nearly 3,500 people per year. They are San Mateo County's welfare-to-work 'One-Stop Center' for local welfare recipients. Most of their clients are from East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City; but they serve people from all over the Bay Area. Their services are free to people who need our help.
The National Coalition for the Homeless is a national advocacy network of homeless persons, activists, service providers, and others committed to ending homelessness through public education, policy advocacy, grassroots organizing, and technical assistance.
Shelter Network is a nonprofit organization which provides housing and services for homeless families and individuals in San Mateo County.
