Opportunity Services Center for Individuals

In the general homeless and at-risk population’s services center there are both hospitality services and rehabilitative services.  The hospitality services, available to all and providing a welcoming experience, include drop-in services, showers and laundry facilities, lockers, light snacks, information and referral, transportation assistance, a clothes closet, medical and psychiatric screening and referral, inter-faith chaplaincy, and fellowship.  Rehabilitative services are available to those who seek to transform their lives and to move out of homelessness or prevent it from occurring.  These services include coordinated case management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, job training and counseling, medical and psychiatric screening, legal assistance, money management training, and support groups.  The center has an open reception area, a small kitchen and eating space, a classroom and computer lab, staff offices, consultation rooms, and an outdoor patio area.  In addition to the services provided to the homeless and at-risk, staff and volunteers at the Opportunity Center are available for community problem solving when issues related to homelessness emerge in the broader community, thereby creating a partnership with community people and engaging everyone in a focus on solutions rather than on problems.
