Community Housing Alliance

The Community Housing Alliance (CHA) was founded in 2006 with the purpose “to develop, operate and encourage development of affordable housing in the Midpeninsula.”   CHA focuses on providing affordable housing for low-income to very low-income people who live and/or work in the Midpeninsula area.  CHA currently owns and operates Alma Garden, a 10-unit apartment complex on Alma Street in South Palo Alto.  CHA’s current partners are the Community Working Group and Eden Housing.

CHA, in partnership with Eden Housing, is in the process of developing a 75-100 unit, mixed use (retail plus housing) facility for very low-income families and seniors.  It will be located on the 800 block of Alma in downtown Palo Alto.

The CHA board is comprised of:  Don Barr, President; Foster Curry, Secretary; Tom Wasow, Treasurer; Eve Agiewich, Litsie Indergand, Bruce Heister, Anne Ehresman, Karen Stiller and Christine Burroughs.  Raymond Lee is the property manager for Alma Garden.
