John Barton, President

A Palo Alto architect, Stanford lecturer and a member of the Palo Alto City Council. He has served two terms on the Palo Alto Unified School District Board of Trustees and is past Chair of the Board of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce.

Bruce Heister, Vice President and Treasurer

Retired Executive Vice President of Alcan Inc. and President of Alcan Asia Pacific Limited. Volunteer leadership positions in arts, educational and historical preservation organizations. Serves as Events Chair for the Community Working Group.

Anne Ehresman, Vice President and Assistant Treasurer

Executive Director of Project Cornerstone.  Nonprofit consultant with over 14 years experience working in housing and services for the low-income community.  Formerly Senior Vice President of InnVision the Way Home and was responsible for creating the service delivery plan for the Opportunity Center. 

Eve Agiewich, Secretary

Director of the Fatherhood Collaborative of San Mateo County. Eve moved to this position after working to end homelessness at Clara-Mateo Alliance. She had previously practiced law for 15 years in Palo Alto. She served three terms on the City of Palo Alto Human Relations Commission, where she worked on housing and diversity issues. Eve is a member of Peninsula Interfaith Action with Congregation Beth Am.

Litsie Indergand, Assistant Treasurer

A member of Peninsula Interfaith Action through the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, where she is the former chair of the Social Justice Committee. She is a past President of the Board of Trustees of that church, as well as of the Midpeninsula Chapter of the United Nations Association and the Walnut Grove Homeowners' Association. She is a former member of the Palo Alto Human Relations Commission.

Donald Barr

Associate Professor of Sociology and Human Biology at Stanford University and the founder and director of Stanford's undergraduate curriculum in health policy. He has been a practicing physician in the Bay Area for more than 25 years. He convened the first meeting of the Community Working Group in 1998 and served as its Board President from 1999 through 2006.

Christine Burroughs

CEO of InnVision for more than 15 years of service, she developed a model nonprofit corporation that has 20 sites providing housing and services to over 16,000 homeless individuals and families each year. She has served in a leadership capacity in several local coalitions and was honored as Woman of Achievement by the San Jose Mercury News/Women's Fund and selected as one of the Power 100 in Silicon Valley by San Jose Magazine.

Tom Conn

Responsible for Business Development at Marion Weinreb & Associates, Inc. Former Vice President, Product Development of Cygnus Inc. As Vice President, he directed an eight year development effort leading to the commercialization of the FDA approved Glucowatch® Biographer for people with diabetes. He is a member of the Advisory Board for Urban Ministry of Palo Alto, Board of Directors for Creative Montessori Learning Center in East Palo Alto, and past President of Grace Lutheran Church of Palo Alto.

LaDoris H. Cordell

Special Counselor to the President for Campus Relations, Stanford University. Judge (ret.), Santa Clara County, for 19 years. Member: Board of Trustees, National Conference for Community and Justice, and Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health. Named Trial Judge of the Year by Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association in 2001. She was also a member of the Palo Alto City Council, having been elected to a 4-year term in 2004. 

Foster Curry

Licensed contractor and 15-year past member and chair of the East Palo Alto Planning Commission. Past Board member of East Palo Alto Historical and Agricultural Society. Member of Acterra, Foundation for Global Community, and Midpeninsula Insight Meditation Center.

Larry Duncan

Graphics designer, day laborer. Served as representative of and for the very poor with the Palo Alto Human Relations Commission's Homelessness Task Force, Stanford Homelessness Action Coalition, and Urban Ministry of Palo Alto Executive and Advisory Boards.

Karen Stiller

Currently the Peninsula Director for the Jewish Community Relations Council. Before moving to the Bay Area in 2000, Karen spent 10 years in Cleveland, Ohio where she received a Master's degree in Social Administration and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University. She then spent several years managing a transitional housing program for formerly homeless families with the Cleveland Housing Network and fundraising for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland.

Tom Wasow

Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy at Stanford University, where he has also played various administrative roles, including Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Dean of Graduate Policy. He has served on a City of Palo Alto Task Force on Homelessness and on the Advisory Board of Urban Ministry of Palo Alto.
