801 Alma Street Family Housing
With the goal of creating more affordable homes for lower-income working families in our community, two non-profit organizations have come together to plan and build a new property – 801 Alma Street.
It will provide 50 much-needed affordable new apartments for working families who earn between 20 percent and 35 percent of the median income for the area, which equates to $20,700 to $36,225 for a family of four.
Located in downtown Palo Alto at the corner of Homer Avenue and Alma Street, 801 Alma Street will be only two blocks away from the downtown transit depot, and it will be situated within easy walking distance of groceries, parks, schools, stores, medical services and other downtown amenities.
801 Alma Street is being developed by the Community Working Group and Eden Housing. These organizations have proven track records of success in developing high-quality, affordable housing communities. Their combined experience and business-minded approach will assure that 801 Alma Street will be attractive, well-managed and affordable to lower-income working families in our community.
